Why do I get an “authentication failed” message when I try to login?

Step 1: Confirm you are entering the correct email address and password. This error is usually the result of invalid credentials. In rare cases, it can also come up if you use an incorrect/outdated password. This can happen if you store your passwords in an app or in your browser (not recommended) and they don’t sync with a recent change.
