Traditional IRA

  • Traditional IRAs are individual retirement accounts. Anyone with earned income may contribute to a Traditional IRA. 
  • Contributions you make to a traditional IRA may be fully or partially deductible, depending on your income and filing status, and typically are not taxed until you take a distribution from your IRA.

Required Documents

The only required document to establish your account is a current unexpired Photo ID. If you are transferring funds from an existing retirement account, we will also request a copy of a recent statement with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Type of account 
  • Current custodian
  • Account number

Roth IRA 

A Roth IRA is an IRA that is subject to the rules that apply to a Traditional IRA, with the below exceptions:

  • Contributions to a Roth IRA cannot be deducted.
  • Qualified distributions are tax-free if you meet certain requirements.
  • Roth IRAs do not have required minimum distributions.
  • The account must be designated as a Roth IRA when it is created.
  • Contributions to a Roth IRA are limited based on your modified adjusted gross income. Please see the IRS website for further information.

Simplified Employee Pension Plan (SEP) 

A SEP is an employer plan that allows employers to contribute to Traditional IRAs (SEP-IRAs) set up for employees. A business of any size can establish a SEP. For more information about SEP IRAs please visit the IRS website.

Required Documents

To establish your account, we require the following:

  • A current unexpired Photo ID.
  • IRS Form 5305/5304-SEP
    • This document establishes your SEP plan. We will provide you with this form prior to account opening. 

If you are transferring funds from an existing retirement account, we will also request a copy of a recent statement with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Type of account 
  • Current custodian
  • Account number

Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees (SIMPLE IRA)

A SIMPLE IRA plan allows employees and employers to contribute to Traditional IRAs set up for employees.  Please visit the IRS website for more information.

Required Documents

To establish your account, we require the following:

  • IRS Form 5305/5304-SIMPLE
    • This document establishes your SEP plan. We will provide you with this form prior to account opening.

  • Account number

Solo 401(K)

A Solo 401(K) (or one-participant 401(K)) is a traditional 401(K) plan for a business owner with no employees, or that person and their spouse. These plans have the same rules and requirements as any other 401(K) plan. Please see the IRS website for further information about Solo(K) plans, their rules and contribution limits.

  • Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization
  • Plan document
