This guide will walk you through the steps of transferring your existing IRA to your BitcoinIRA. Follow the steps carefully to ensure this is done in compliance with IRS rules for transfers.
Instructions
Log in to your BitcoinIRA account at app.bitcoinira.com/login
1. Locate and click the Add Funds link on the left side navigation bar.
2. Select "Transfer from a retirement account."
3. Enter the details of your existing IRA, and how much you’d like to transfer to your BitcoinIRA account:
Choose the type of retirement account you're transferring from (e.g., Traditional IRA, Roth IRA).
Enter the name of your current custodian (the financial institution holding your IRA).
Enter your existing IRA account number (if readily available).
Enter the total dollar amount currently in your IRA.
Enter the amount you’d like to transfer to your BitcoinIRA.
Specify whether transfer amount is "Partial" or "Full."
4. Upload a recent PDF or image of your current IRA statement to verify your account details. Proof of ownership is required.
5. Review the information you've entered. If everything is correct, click "Save & Continue."
6. A confirmation screen will appear verifying your request has been sent.
7. Within 24-48 hours, you'll receive an email with instructions for the next steps.
Please follow the instructions to complete the request:
Download the transfer request form from our custodian (Digital Trust) in the Document Center (pre-filled with your information).
Print, sign, scan and upload the completed form back to the Document Center.
BitcoinIRA will then forward the signed form to your current custodian to initiate the transfer process.
